WHAT IS Integrative COUNSELLING?
Integrative Counselling is a type of therapy that aims to improve emotional and mental health well-being through creative methods of self expression. Also known as Creative Counselling, Integrative Counselling can help children, young people, adolescents and adults.
Depending on the individual, there are many different forms of creative therapy that can be used. Painting, drawing, sculpting and role play are just a few methods.
The use of visual art and other materials in Integrative counselling can help the individual uncover feelings, problematic behaviours and resolve inner conflicts. Through creativity, this type of counselling can help the individual find emotional balance.
Furthermore, by being creative we engage the right side of the brain. This is responsible for emotions, which is important for dealing with the issues brought to therapy. By unleashing this side of the brain through our creative side, we can express feelings and even discover unconscious material.
